11. Support Tools

CBOLD Support Tools are not part of the CBOLD framework. They are independent executables. Their use is optional. The CBOLD Support Tool executables can be downloaded without charge, subject to licensing terms.

CBOLD Support Tools further two of the main goals of CBOLD: to make board-level design more convenient, and to reduce the chance of errors.

pt_to_h converts part (.pt) files to C++ header (.h) files. A part file is a simple text file that contains essential information on electronic components, primarily pinouts. pt_to_h.exe converts this information into TPart class declarations.

auto_reg codes the TModule::Register() function in user-coded CBOLD design files. It does this in place, i.e., it reads a user's source file and inserts in Register() the appropriate reg() call for each of the module's members.
